Here’s two different articles I’ve spotted in the past few weeks…
The first one discusses being “discovered” online through blogging, video, and other media distribution.
The second one discusses the dangers of being fired from your current employer while blogging on the side.
I guess everything in life has certain risks and payoffs, and it’s always up to you to judge for yourself on what you should or shouldn’t be doing. I’ve mostly found that the benefits outweigh the risks, and you can always blog anonymously if you’re worried about employers (both current and future) discovering what you’ve said online.
I’ve was ‘dooced’ about five months.
Seriously? That’s terrible. Hopefully it wasn’t too hard to bounce back elsewhere.
It took about 4 months to find another job. The good news is that I walk back and forth to my new job downtown now and love it.
It was all worth it in the end, but there were definitely times when I felt like an idiot. I should have just quit my job outright.
