A little over two months ago I started blogging a bit about riding COTA. After two months, I was right… the “challenge” part has worn off. I’ve gotten used to how several routes run, what times of day are optimal for getting around, and what to expect out of my trips.
This weekend marked a first for me though… riding the bus on the weekend. I’ve mostly used COTA for getting back and forth to business meetings and for running a few errands, neither of which I have a whole lot of on the weekends. I’m usually glued to my computer working all weekend.
But last night I attended the showing of Back to the Future at the Ohio Theater as a part of CAPA’s awesome Summer Movie Series. I figured it would be easier to bus it over instead of trying to park around State Street. And after the movie was over I was able to hop on a bus at the final lineup (10pm) with some lucky timing and ride home as well. I still think that’s fairly early on Saturday evening to end local bus service, as many people are still out and about until much later. With ridership numbers rapidly climbing at COTA it may soon make sense for them to run a couple buses beyond the 10 o’clock hour. Bring it on!
