Ten Reasons You Should be excited for the HighBall

HighballThe first annual HighBall Halloween party is coming up on Friday, October 31st. If you’re not excited yet… well… here’s ten good reasons to get crazy excited:

10 ) Let’s face it… you could use a fresh new reason other than Gallery Hop to hit the Short North for a night out on the town.

9 ) Other Halloween parties in Columbus are lame! You don’t want to put a lot of work into a great costume only to sit around your friends’ living room watching people grind to whatever annoying music is “in” right now while you drink whatever cheap beer is in the fridge. You deserve much better than that!

8 ) Because the people helping to throw this party are all awesome folks who want to make Columbus a better place for everyone. (You can read some of their profiles here on the Short North Blog).

7 ) The world needs more costume parties. Drinking = Fun. Drinking in a costume = MEGA FUN. Dancing = fun. Dancing in a costime = CRAZY FUN. People watching = fun. People watching in costumes = BEST NIGHT OF 2008.

6 ) Celebrity spotting! Locals Kelli Martin and Terri Stevens (who were featured on this season of Project Runway) along with other designers will be showcasing some outrageous designs for the fashion showdown on the runway!

5 ) Costume Contests Galore, with loads of cash and prizes for the winners! If you dress to impress (the judges) then you could be going home with more money than you started out with. When was the last time THAT happened?

4 ) Two stages with live music. One on Hubbard to the North. One near Buttles to the South. You’ll be walking back and forth all night.

3 ) It’s FREE to get in. You like free stuff, don’t you?

2 ) Two words… AFTER PARTIES. The event officially ends at midnight, but the bars and clubs will be going strong until 2:30am, and the after parties will carry on well into the next day. Technically, they’ll be carrying on into the next Month!

1 ) Because partying IN THE STREET is so much fun. Everyone’s always wanted to drink and dance under the pulsating Short North Arches, right? Well… I know I have… time to check that one off my bucket list soon. People are still making bucket lists, right?

Anyway, see you at the party!
