Nearly two months ago I got a phone call out of the blue from a freelance writer working with American Way Magazine asking if I’d like to contribute a few quotes to an upcoming feature on the city of Columbus. I had nearly forgotten about this until a childhood friend of mine sent me a message on Facebook over the weekend saying that he had read the magazine and spotted my quote right below one from Archie Griffin.
I immediately hopped on their website and found the online version of the feature, and was impressed to see that they had included a working link to ColumbusUnderground.com. Seems like most publications don’t bother to convert website addresses into working links for their online stories.
When I originally spoke to Jenna on the phone, she asked me about holiday shopping, so I rattled off a few examples of great local boutique shops. I believe I mentioned Tigertree, Skreened, and What the Rock?!, but it looks like only one made the editorial cut, and they picked WTR.
Anyway, always good to see our city profiled in national publications, and hopefully it helps to bring a little bit more attention to some of the great things we’ve got going on here in Columbus.
