March is “Food Exploration” Month

Food PyramidMarch kicks off the second “Groupsourced Resolution” which is Food Exploration. There’s always new restaurants opening up, and Columbus has such a diverse range of cuisine, there’s got to be something new for everyone to try. There’s some conversation on ColumbusUnderground where folks are already discussing how they’re tackling this new month-long challenge.

As for me, I’m going to make it a point to try out as many new places as possible. I’ll be posting up a few mini-reviews from time to time as well as some invitations to food-related events that I’m going to be attending.

This weekend I’ll be checking out the Warehouse Cafe with some others who frequent Columbus Underground to try out what this downtown spot has to offer for breakfast. It’s one of the few places open downtown on weekend mornings, so they do their best to patronize it and make sure it gets supported in the community.

Also, I’ll be headed to the Ohio Deli to witness The Dagwood Challenge. I won’t be participating, but will be filming and documenting this wonderful event for future generations to enjoy. I will try out something much smaller while I’m there though.

And lastly, Anne & I are going to try to make it a new tradition to get up early and head to the North Market every Saturday morning to buy a handful of fresh items for the week. We figure allotting $20 would be a reasonable start, and would be enough to pick up a variety of fresh local produce, perhaps a cut or two of meat to enjoy one day during the week, or something similar. We probably won’t start this weekend though, because the Arnold Fitness Expo is in town, and the entire area surrounding the Convention Center will be a nightmare all weekend long. We will start soon though.

Stay tuned for food-related updates!
