Last week I met with Lyndsey Teter from the Other Paper to talk about the local Columbus blogging scene. We chatted for around an hour about the community and while I of course talked up ColumbusUnderground.com quite a bit, I also gave her plenty of information about other blogs, websites, and online resources available here in Columbus. I believe we’ve got a very strong online presence here in Columbus that for the most part is free from drama, negativity, or complainers. Nearly everyone I’ve met both online and in person who blogs has been energetic and positive about the city of Columbus and I think that’s a great reflection of the youthful spirit of our city.
Still… I’m a little nervous about how this story is going to turn out. I’ve been reading The Other Paper long enough to know that they enjoy playing into the drama a bit with their articles, and I’ve heard directly from many people who have been interviewed that their quotes don’t always get used in the context that they would have liked. Lyndsey was incredibly nice though, and as I said, there wasn’t really anything negative about the Columbus blogging scene for me to talk about.
So tomorrow morning, I’ll have to uncross my fingers and go pick up a paper and see how it turned out. Let me know what you think if you happen to see the article.
