Liveblogging from CMC Lunch Event with Rebecca Ryan

Start 12:02pm – So, I’m currently at this Columbus Metropolitan Club luncheon event downtown today that will feature Rebecca Ryan speaking. I thought maybe this would be a nice chance to do a little “liveblogging”. See if it’s worthwhile.

Anyone have any questions that should be asked to Rebecca?

Update 1:51PM – Ok. So I didn’t really get much of a chance for liveblogging. I guess I should have thought about the idea more first. Since this was a luncheon I didn’t really have any room for my laptop at the table, so I wasn’t really able to keep dibs on what was going on. Plus the Q&A was limited to like 3 questions. I don’t know if that’s the norm, but I was expecting more Q&A.

Overall, Rebecca talked about a lot of the same concepts that she’s discussed during other meetings and presentations. There were a few new highlighted facts and comparisons, but the bulk of the material was the same. Not that it was a bad thing though because after a show of hands, the vast majority of people there had never heard her speak before. A lot of what she was saying was directed intentionally at an older crowd as well, since I think I was one of the youngest people in the room (at the ripe ol’ age of 27).

Anyway, live and learn I guess. Perhaps I’ll try this liveblogging idea again in the future when I don’t have a plate of Chicken Salad Sandwich in front of me.

Hope I am not too late on this, I wanted to know from her experience, how much has climate played a role in YP’s choosing a certain city?

Another one, from her experience, has small towns suffered greatly from “brain drain”? I know she gets hired by larger towns. From her experience, What % of YP’s come from small towns to cities such as Columbus and has any “small town” been successful in keeping YP’s?

Well the Q&A ended up being short, so there was only time for 2 or 3 questions, none of which were from me. :(

Worth a shot, I know Rebecca Ryan occasionally drops by these blogs, but I wonder if there is a way to communicate questions such as this without having to rely on her personal visits?
