I’m planning on taking vacations next year to Milwaukee and Chattanooga because Skybus will get me there cheap. I’ve started doing a bit of research already, but my destinations there will be places like the Short North. Fun, interesting, unique, local neighborhoods.
Is it unrealistic to think that there aren’t other people like me looking to come to Columbus and more specifically the Short North as a destination?
Anymore it seems like most young people are willing to skip the touristy things in favor of the more authentic, local experiences. And it’s no question that second-tier cities and their downtown neighborhoods are on the rise all over the country right now.
The Statue of Liberty and Alcatraz and the CN Tower are for old people with fanny packs and disposable cameras.
Hip neighborhoods in Austin, Portland, Denver, and COLUMBUS are the new travel destinations.
