Home Improvement Update: A touch of curb appeal

Perhaps you may recall some photos I posted in December before we got moved into the new house over here in the King Lincoln District. Back then our front yard looked like this:

Well, after picking up a rake downtown on Friday at Zettler Hardware (The #1 Rake Supplier in all of Downtown), Anne got to work today at cleaning up the mess. We probably need to completely replant the grass in both the front and back yard as it’s very patchy and the ground needs leveling, but for a quick afternoon’s work, she did a great job at adding a bit of curb appeal. And now our front yard looks like this:

Yep, that’s four bags of yard waste she picked up. The little flower bed was full of weeds and rocks and a single lonely tulip that came up last week. We kept the tulip but scrapped the rest. She put down some mulch, a few flowers, and added some potted flowers on the front step by the door. Looks great! Here’s a few more photos:

    Looks great. Jo and I need to get on the yard work within the next couple of weeks so we can do something similar.

    Thats quite an improvement. If you guys want any hostas, they are coming up all over my yard and I need to get rid of some. Feel free to drive by anytime and dig any out of my front flower beds, they’ll probably get trampled next week when I paint the front porch.

    I can’t wait to see our flower bed in a few more weeks! There are already a few bulbs popping through!
