November seems like such a long way away when it’s 94 degrees and sunny outside. But that’s not stopping Ohio (and Columbus in particular) from shaping up once again to be a hotbed of political activity leading up to this year’s presidential election.
According to a recent article on CentralOhio.com, Ohio suburbs are going to be the key for McCain. From the article: There was a time when Hamilton and Franklin counties were dependable, bedrock Republican treasure troves of votes and places like Butler County and Delaware County, north of Columbus, were quiet little places that no presidential candidate paid the least bit of attention to.
In more immediate news, Obama will be swinging through Columbus on Friday on a quick campaign stop. From the article: Although details have not been finalized, Obama will meet with senior citizens in a continuation of his “Change that works for you tour.” The gathering is by invitation only, although it is open to the press.
It’s going to be a long summer, so find a great patio, enjoy the sun, and we’ll try to keep the political rumblings to a minimum while it’s still so nice outside. There will plenty of time for heated debates once the weather turns cooler in the fall.
