Columbus International Film & Video Festival

Looking for something to do this week? The 55th Annual Columbus International Film & Video Festival kicks off today and runs for the entire next week. A lot of people I mention this to don’t even realize that Columbus HAS a Film Festival, let alone one that has been running for five and a half decades. Anne & I attended their awards ceremony last year and one of their more highly praised films. They primarily show documentaries and do a very good job at landing films that are either Ohio premieres, midwestern premieres, and sometimes US premieres. These films aren’t to be missed, because you’ll probably have a pretty hard time finding them anywhere else.

So go check it out, and help support our great local film festival. You can view the entire list of films, times, and locations on the chrisawards.org website.

  1. Walker,

Thanks for the plug. I’d like to invite everybody down to Germania (on South Front Street in the Brewery District) Tuesday Night at 8 PM for a free screening of Bella Figura, a really neat German film about opera and being overweight. There will be fine German beer available and really terrific authentic German brats made by really terrific authentic Germans.

    Thanks,

    Susan
