Auditions for Our Town
With a cast of 24, Our Town offers a large number of roles. That means there are opportunities for a variety of actors — from the professional to the amateur. Everyone is encouraged and welcome.All roles are open for audition, except the Stage-Manager, which will played by Artie Isaac. Here’s why.Here’s how to know if you should audition for Our Town:1. Hello. You have not acted in a play since you were in the second grade Christmas pageant. You did NOT wake up this morning thinking, “I hope I get to act in a play someday.”
…or…
2. Hello, serious actor. You care about the theater. You are driven to perform — and also to teach others about stagecraft.
Both types of actors — from the experience to the completely inexperienced — are invite to audition.
Our Town auditions will be Monday and Tuesday, March 10-11, 2008, with callbacks on Wednesday, March 12. The location is to be determined.
The production is planned for June 26-28, 2008, in Bexley, Ohio.
If you want to audition, please either:
prepare a monologue of not more than two minutes (doesn’t have to be from Our Town).
be ready to be handed a piece of the script
