Art from Nikos Fyodor Rutkowski

Nikos Art

This piece (which looks a little weird in the photo due to the fact that we haven’t hung it up yet) is from local artist Nikos Rutkowski. Nikos is a fairly active member of the local arts community, especially in the up-and-coming Franklinton neighborhood where he serves as the Vice President of the Franklinton Arts District organization.

Anne & I first saw this piece hanging at in a show at the Downtown Columbus Metropolitan Library (which is consistently ranked as one of the best libraries in the country) and thought it looked great. It was hanging next to a similar piece (which I’ve think may still be for sale) and really stood out from the rest of the artwork in that show for us.

We contacted Nikos to see if the work was for sale and to find out the price. He informed us that it was for sale, but was also going to be hanging in another show at Junctionview Studios called Environmental in March. We decided to wait to see if we really wanted to buy the piece, and after we saw it again we knew we’d have to grab it before someone else did.

We plan on hanging this one in our front foyer that we’re getting ready to paint and redecorate. Very slowly we’re turning our home into a gallery of works from local artists, and we think this will make a great entry piece into our home.
