Millennial Talent Survey

Another local survey to pass along. This one is contributing to the work of a local author: Greetings!  Below is a link to a Millennial Talent survey.  It doesn’t take very long — it’s looking for your views on your workplace and how you are valued or not by your employer; it can be completed [...]

Would you attend a statewide summit of young professionals?

Got this survey passed along through email: Would you attend a statewide summit of young professionals?  If so, what would you like to get out of it?  Let them know! As you may know, a planning committee made up of representatives from YP organizations around the state is pursuing a “Summit of Young Professionals” to [...]

YP Commission Meeting Next Week with Doug Moore

There’s another Young Professionals Commission Meeting next week and Doug Moore, COTA’s Vice President of Planning and Customer Service, is the scheduled speaker. He’ll be discussing COTA’s Long-Range Transit Plan, which includes expanding fixed-route bus service and planning for future transit investments. I’m guessing there will be an angle on this of how it will [...]

Getting some Props from Toledo

The Toledo Free Press has a regular online feature where they plug a few blogs around the state for people to check out, and it just so happens that not only did my blog here get mentioned, but Columbus Underground did as well. Hooray! Big thanks to Lisa Renee for the linkage! This next blog [...]

Something better than “Young Professionals”

Does the term “Young Professionals” get under your skin? Are you tired of hearing it? Is there a better term out there? The Young Professionals Commission is trying to start off by re-branding themselves and their target demographic. Every since the conception of the committee, the demographic has included people of various ages, backgrounds, professions, [...]

The Grant Avenue Corridor

Something I think about from time to time is how High Street functions as such a main artery of Columbus, and aside from a few other small portions of other streets (a few blocks of Front, Gay, Main), we really don’t have anything that ranks as a close second place to it. One area that [...]

Liveblogging from CMC Lunch Event with Rebecca Ryan

Start 12:02pm – So, I’m currently at this Columbus Metropolitan Club luncheon event downtown today that will feature Rebecca Ryan speaking. I thought maybe this would be a nice chance to do a little “liveblogging”. See if it’s worthwhile. Anyone have any questions that should be asked to Rebecca? Update 1:51PM – Ok. So I [...]

The Columbus Bicentennial Website is up

The City of Columbus has their 2012 Bicentennial website online. Check it out. I filled out their survey at a booth at the Art Festival this year. Sadly, my comments didn’t make it online. Hrmm…

City Center Website is Gone

Got an interesting email from muh-boy JimL2 about the City Center Website: www.shopcitycenter.com now serves as nothing more than a redirect to www.simon.com/findamall. This should allow you to view all of Simon’s properties in the U.S. However, when you type in Columbus or City Center, it claims it can’t find any records… spooky, huh? I [...]
