This holiday season I’m encouraging everyone to shop smart and shop locally for their gifts. When you spend money on locally made products, that money stays within your community. You support small independent businesses and help the regional Columbus economy stay strong. If you’re having trouble coming up with gift ideas, well… this guide is for you. I’ll be posting 15 gift ideas over the next 15 days. Time to get your shopping done!
Gift Idea #5 – Alphabet Print from Sycamore Street Press
Sycamore Street Press is a local group who specializes in letterpress prints in the form of artwork, stationary, and other paper products. Anne & I actually lived on Sycamore Street in German Village, and I believe they set up shortly before we moved out of the neighborhood. Anne’s a big fan of letterpressed work, so they caught her eye immediately.
We spotted them at Tiny Canary a few weekends ago and said hi and browsed their collection. We contemplated buying the item I am featuring here, which is an alphabet poster that is perfect for a kid’s room. We probably would have bought it if we didn’t already have an alphabet poster for our own kiddo. Anyway, if that doesn’t strike your fancy, they’ve got a lot of other great things on their website here. Check em out!
If they combined light turquoise and orange! Very pretty!
I saw this print at Tiny Canary and fell in love with it. Sycamore Street’s work is–in a word–awesome. Fabulous design on paper never fails to catch my eye; their booth was like a magnet.
